Our photographers craft a story. 

With a tent glowing at dusk, light filtering through the trees, or someone sipping coffee by the fire, they capture the kind of moments that help campers picture themselves there.

The $100 fee comes out of your next payout after your photos are up. Plus, 80%+ of Hosts cover the cost within two weeks of their shoot.

Great reviews drive bookings, and our photographers do more than just take photos—they experience your camp firsthand. After their stay, they’ll leave an authentic review, giving future guests even more reason to book.

Within a week of their stay, you will get at least 15 professional photos and a review uploaded to your Hipcamp page. Our photo curator will arrange the photos, but you’re welcome to change the order yourself. 

We’ll verify your eligibility for pro photos, then you’ll receive an email once your request is confirmed. Eligibility depends on your location. 

Your payment for photography will come out of your next payout. 

A photographer will place a one-night booking through Hipcamp, like a regular camper, based on your updated calendar availability. We provide them with code to make the booking free.

Share your new photos on social media, and watch the bookings roll in! 

 The photographer will travel to your location, set up camp, and shoot the property. They might bring along a friend or two to help model in photos (we  encourage this as it makes for better photos!).

How much does this cost?

$100-150, depending on the quote we sent you. If you did not receive a quote, you can still sign up and we will confirm the cost at that time if you are eligible. There is no payment due upfront- we take the cost out of your next payout after the photos are live.

Why does the photographer stay overnight?

So they can get the best light! And because photographers often have to travel distances to get to your location. Staying overnight also allows them to write an authentic review. Learn more.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Cancellations within 24 hours of the shoot are subject to a $50 fee, since we will need to reimburse the photographer. If there is bad weather ahead, try to reschedule with your photographer with enough notice. Learn more.

How long will it take to get a photographer? 

We can't guarantee a certain timeframe, but hopefully in the next month! If it's taking longer it could be that we don't have photographers in your area. Email us at photography@hipcamp.com if you're waiting too long and we'll see what we can do.

How can I prepare for the shoot?

Tidy up, mow the grass, put away yard tools, and most importantly: communicate with your photographer to let them know you're expecting them. If they don't hear from you at all, they might cancel. 

Will the photographer have a drone? 

Some photographers have drones, but not all so we consider it a bonus. Feel free to message your photographer and ask if they have a drone ahead of time.

Who owns the photos?

Hipcamp retains rights to the photos but you are welcome to use the photos in your social media marketing or on your personal website. Just not on competing platforms.
